The recent surge in pro-Palestinian protests on U.S. college campuses has led to significant unrest and mass arrests. At least 2,000 protesters have been arrested nationwide. These protests have been particularly intense at universities like Columbia, UCLA, and NYU, with students demanding divestment from companies associated with Israel and arms manufacturing, and calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza.

The situation as of May 2024 remains volatile, with ongoing clashes and tensions between Pro-Palestine, Antiwar, Pro-Israel, Zionist, and other student groups and university administrations​.

Furthermore, news has leaked that billionaires have been pressuring public officials behind closed doors, ex. NYC Mayor Eric Adams, to crackdown on protestors. This is in addition to public statements the rich and even elected officials have made in opposition to student uprisings.

These photos are from outside of the freedom encampment at UCLA and a student demonstration outside of Pomona College’s graduation being hosted at USC in May 2024, both in support of a ceasefire in Gaza and a divestment from genocide. I was only there because my wonderful wife called it out that we needed to go. Once the words were out I knew she was right. So we went and here is some of what we saw.
